Your New AP School Year

    Teachers will be able to order their free 2019 CED binder.

  3. February

    Principals begin communicating new AP Exam ordering deadlines, policies, and fees to students and parents for 2019-20.

  4. Late May

    New informational videos and interactive, self-paced online modules for teachers become available. Teachers can begin updating their course plans with unit guides, if they choose to do so.

  5. Late May

    Teachers can access new and updated CEDs on AP Central, along with video previews of the AP Classroom system.

  6. Late May

    The AP Course Audit opens for 2019-20, a few months later than usual. Teachers should review subject-specific details on what to expect on AP Central.

  7. Before the School Year


    Comprehensive in-person workshops for coordinators on registering and ordering begin.

  8. June

    Week-long AP Summer Institutes for teachers begin.

  9. June

    2019 CED binders start mailing to teachers who pre-ordered them.

  10. August 1

  11. August

    Principals and coordinators receive an AP Registration and Ordering system access code that enables the AP coordinator to log in and complete the AP participation form.

  12. August

    Teachers explore the new resources available and prepare to use them with their students.

  13. August

    Live online AP Registering and Ordering training sessions for coordinators begin.

  14. August

    One-day AP teacher workshops begin.

  15. August

    Online modules for coordinators about how to use the new system launch.

  16. August

    Principals communicate new AP Exam ordering deadlines, policies, and fees to students and parents for 2019-20.

  17. Before classes begin

    Coordinators sign in to My AP and enter class sections for all AP classes at their school, and then notify teachers that class sections and join codes are available.

  18. Before classes begin

    Teachers sign in to My AP and get join codes for each of their class sections.

  19. Fall 2019

    First day of class

    Teachers share the join code with the students in their class along with instructions for signing in and joining the class section.

  20. Before the second day of class

    Students sign in to My AP and enroll in their class sections, using the unique join code for each.

  21. Second day of class

    Teachers begin using AP Classroom resources with students.

  22. October 4

    Preferred deadline for coordinators to review registration rosters in the system, make needed changes, and confirm and submit an AP exam order. Orders may be updated and resubmitted without additional fees until the final deadline.

  23. November 15, 11:59 p.m. ET

    Final deadline for coordinators to submit an exam order. No payment is due until June. Exams can be ordered or canceled after this date, though a fee applies in some cases.

  24. Winter 2020

    Exam administration live online sessions begin.

  25. January

    Coordinators create class sections for spring semester classes and adjust rosters.

  26. January 17, 2020

    Deadline to submit accommodations requests and documentation to Services for Students with Disabilities.

  27. January 31, 2020

    Deadline to submit a new AP Course Audit form and course materials, if applicable, for 2019-20 AP Course Audit authorization.

  28. Spring 2020

    March 13, 11:59 p.m. ET

    Deadline for coordinators to submit exam order updates, including late registration, spring course orders, and fall order changes. (Fees may apply.)

  29. April

    Schools receive personalized student registration (AP ID) labels and AP Exams.

  30. April 30

    Deadline for coordinators to update the AP Fee Status information (I.e., eligibility for a College Board fee reduction) for their students in AP Registration and Ordering.

  31. May

    Schools administer AP Exams.

  32. June 15

    Schools return exam fee invoice with payment.

  33. Summer 2020


    AP Exam scores are released.
