Accessing Your Score Reports
In order to access Online Reports for Educators all authorized AP teachers, AP coordinators, principals, and district administrators must have a College Board Education Professional account. You may already have a Professional account if you have used College Board online services such as AP Exam Ordering, the AP Course Audit, or AP Potential™ in the past.
Access for Teachers
Only teachers authorized through the AP Course Audit for the most current year for which AP score data has been released have access to their students’ exam scores online.
- Teachers must renew their course authorization every year to continue to have access to current and previous years’ reports. For example, teachers authorized for the 2015-16 school year are able to view their 2016 administration reports now.
- If class section codes were designated on exam day for their subject, teachers may only see data for students in their specific sections.
Access for Principals and AP Coordinators with AP Course Audit accounts
In late May and June 2017, the College Board will email 2017 access codes to AP Coordinators and principals designated on the schools’ 2016-17 Participation Forms and to 2016-17 AP Course Audit Administrators.
Access for School and District Administrators and others without AP Course Audit Accounts
School and district administrators who do not have a 2016-17 AP Course Audit account will need an access code to view 2017 scores online if:
- They did not access previous years’ AP Exam scores online; or
- Their College Board Education Professional account email address does not match the email address listed on their schools’ 2016-17 AP Participation Form (for school administrators) or the districts’ 2017 AP Online Scores Contact Information Update Form (for district administrators).
- Each spring, the College Board mails the AP Online Scores Contact Information Update Form to districts that accessed the previous year's online reports, requesting that they verify the information currently on file. If district administrators do not receive their AP Online Scores Contact Information Update Form by April 1 or are new to AP scores online, they should contact ETS Code Control by phone at 609-771-7091 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Sharing an Access Code
Authorized school and district administrators may share the code to provide access to the Online Reports for Educators website with up to five staff members. Alternatively, an administrator can download or print reports to share with staff offline.
Note: If you are prompted for an access code when signing in, you will need to wait until 8 a.m. ET the morning after entering your code before you can access the site. This allows the system to process your account information.
Granting Access to Department Chairs
Department chairs who are also AP teachers can log in as teachers and access score data for any AP subjects they are currently authorized to teach through the AP Course Audit.
- If your school designated separate sections for any of these subjects, the department chair can select all sections for that subject on the section selection screen when first signing in to the Online Reports for Educators website.
- If a department chair is not authorized for some of the courses that are part of the department, they can either request that an administrator forward that score data to them, or the school’s principal may provide them with an access code that will give them school administrator access.
- With administrator-level access, staff members will have access to all results from the school, including subjects outside their department.
Safeguards Against the Misuse of Data
The College Board is committed to protecting the privacy of students’ data. We depend on administrators in particular to guard against such misuses of data, and discourage schools from using AP online reports for the purposes of evaluating or comparing teachers. For this reason, all visitors to this site agree to certain legal terms and conditions.
Additional safeguards include:
- Ability to assign and access section-level data. When selecting which section’s results they want to see, teachers should not select section numbers for any classes they did not teach.
- An email is sent to the schools’ designated administrators (including the AP Coordinator) whenever a teacher initially selects his or her section number(s) or any time he or she subsequently changes this information. This gives administrators and coordinators visibility into the sections that are accessed by particular teachers.
- Principals can choose to restrict AP teachers from accessing individual students’ exam results. The principal must contact AP Services to make the request, and would then be responsible for sharing the data directly with teachers. Note that teachers would still have access to the AP Instructional Planning Reports, but these do not include individual student-level data.
- Principals can completely restrict access for certain staff members (i.e., staff who are no longer employed at a school) by contacting AP Services.

Identify Students with the Potential to Succeed in AP
AP Potential is a free, web-based tool that allows schools to generate rosters of students who are likely to score a 3 or higher on a given AP Exam based on their performance on the PSAT/NMSQT, and starting this year the PSAT 8/9, PSAT 10, or SAT.
